NRCSSST is the brainchild of Stephanie Luke, from The Coathangers, and Dan Dixon of PLS PLS/Dropsonic straight from Atlanta, Ga. The band is backed by Chandler Rentz (Snowden) on drums, André Griffin (PLS PLS) on keys, and Danny Silvestri (Trances Arc) on bass. Stephanie and Dan started writing songs together in early 2019. Over the course of about 6 months the two recorded an album with Dixon providing most of the musical accompaniment, Rentz on drums, and Luke adding lyrics and melodies. From there they recruited their other bandmates and began playing local shows- the first of which was opening for Swervedriver. The band was only able to play a handful of shows before the pandemic hit. However, since then, they were picked up by SlimStyle Records and filmed a video for “Don’t Know Me” with Atlanta director, Video Rahim (Mastodon, Night Sun, Biters, Coathangers, Blackberry Smoke, Sleepy Brown, Talib Kweli). Out Feb 12th, tour commences whenever the current apocalypse is over.
