A Happy Death

Born in the midst of a sleazy, dark New York winter, A Happy Death began touring the Eastern seaboard, before relocating to the Pacific Northwest, and Portland, Oregon specifically, to deliver their blend of driven garage-rock to a scene they felt devoid of the melodic noise they could make.

Releasing their self-titled, debut 7″ in 2011, the band found themselves at home in Portland, receiving laudatory press from the likes of Portland Mercury and The Deli Magazine.  Spawning a video for the song “Nazi Zombies,” the 7″ helped solidify them in the Portland rock scene with a steady, consistently growing fan base, as they tore up stages (and floors) big and small throughout the city.

Embarking on a West Coast tour in the winter of 2012, A Happy Death found themselves the subjects of a documentary, which exposed the vivacity of the band and the unrefined lifestyle of their do-it-yourself life on the road.  The film will be released to coincide with the festival circuit and the band’s forthcoming debut LP, Introducing: A Happy Death.

Hitting the road in the spring of 2013, the band road-tested all the songs from Introducing: A Happy Death across the country, burning up in sweaty rock clubs, basement bars, and even house shows for the devoted.

Following the release of Introducing: A Happy Death winter 2014, the band will hit the road yet again to play to the new, familiar, and bewildered.
