It paradoxically takes incredible focus and rigorous planning to enable thousands of music-lovers to get way out of their heads over a long weekend. And that’s what the savvy organizers behind Seattle’s headiest festival, Freakout, have been doing since 2013. Founders Guy Keltner and Skyler Locatelli—as well as their highly motivated staff—have manifested their dream to psychedelicize the festival experience through bold curation and relentless drive. Every year’s a dazzling adventure in which people discover new favorite bands, get wowed by venerable legends for the first time, meet dozens of like-minded music fanatics, and generate memories that will sustain them for a lifetime.
