The Lowest Pair

Team Love Records

The Lowest Pair features the duel banjo picking of Kendl Winter and Palmer T. Lee. Draped in Kendl’s high lonesome harmonies and Palmer’s midwest croon, their debut release 36¢ (Team Love Records) was hailed by many outlets and American Songwriter praised their “earnest, earthy songcraft”. Paste Magazine said about their sophomore effort, The Sacred Heart Sessions (Team Love Records), that “with their bare-bones instrumentation and country-inspired, heartstring-tugging narratives, The Lowest Pair might be one of the best under-the-radar Americana duos today.”

Kendl and Palmer’s friendship was sparked fireside at a roots music festival on the Mississippi River several years before the collaboration of The Lowest Pair began in 2013. Kendl’s Arkansas roots and Palmer’s old time inspirations have largely influenced their previous releases which feature their songwriting as well as their haunting musical chemistry. In the short time they’ve been on the road together they’ve accumulated a beautiful and quirky repertoire of traditional tunes and a few more originals under that old-time influence.

I Reckon I’m Fixin’ On Kickin’ Round to Pick a Little, Volume 1 is a collection of some of their favorites in arrangements they’ve been performing on tour in the last couple of years. Including well known tunes like “Cuckoo” and “Shortnin’ Bread”, these are songs deeply ingrained in the American tradition, interpreted here by the Lowest Pair with their signature sound of dual banjo and male/female vocal harmony.

Team Love Records is proud to release The Lowest Pair’s most recent endeavor on July 24th, 2015.
